- The Ariel Club, established in 1891, is Denton’s oldest club for women.
- Its mission is to further the common good and general welfare of the Denton Community by promoting broader culture and the mutual improvement of its members in literature, music, art, and other subjects of special interest to its members. The club’s purposes are exclusively charitable, educational and literary.
- From its beginning with 20 charter members, the club has grown to a current membership of more than 200.
- Members meet regularly in special interest groups and also support the Book Review Luncheon series sponsored by the City Federation and a baked goods booth at the annual Denton Arts and Jazz Festival. Individually, members serve the community in a wide array of volunteer activities.
- Ariel Club is a member of Denton City Federation of Women’s Clubs, a charter member of the Texas Federation of Women’s Clubs, and a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs.
